For anyone that is interested, I’ve created a Kinect/Processing sketch that produces OSC output that is compatible with NI-Mate’s Free Official Blender Plugin (http://www.ni-mate.com/use/blender/)
The link also contains the Big Buck blend that you can use for testing.
You’ll need SimpleOpenNI, toxiclibs, oscP5/netP5 Processing libraries to use it.
My needs require a separate webcam feed since the Kinect actor will be in a different room. You can safely remove “Capture webcam” and its references from the sketch without impacting OSC functionality.
On an unrelated note, if someone finds it helpful, I also created for my project a blender game engine lip sync addon that plays animations based on sound input.
