Looped YouTube Shorts version:
GnomeDome was modelled in mobile iOS app, Valence3D, then sculpted and textured in Nomad Sculpt. 2D Cherry Blossom leaves were made in IbisPaint X, also a mobile app. Cherry Blossom background was just an image I found in an image search (I made sure to check Public Domain images only, don’t worry!). Rigging, Animation, Particle Effects (the aforementioned Cherry Blossom Leaves in the Wind), and Lighting were all done in Blender itself. Rendering, Post-Processing and Most Color Correction were done in Blender Eevee (Legacy version, Eevee NEXT isn’t quite there for me, yet). Final Saturation Boost and Video Edits were made in KdenLive. Music is called “Shenhua,” from the classic SEGA Dreamcast game, Shenmue.
I’ve been sitting on several animation ideas for months, partly because it’s too hot to do a lot of rendering this summer, but I eventually decided it would be better for my growth as a Blender artist to not let perfect be the enemy of the good and just post what I can currently do for all to see and critique, starting with “Notice Me, GnomeDome”.
Notice me, Blenderartists.org-senpaaaaaaiiiiiii!
