Number of JOINTS does not match the number of WEIGHTS

If i try to export the mesh from Blender without checking the option “Include All Bone Influeneces”, i get something like that for 2 submeshes: There are more than 4 joint vertex influences. The 4 with highest weight will be used (and normalized).
If i check the option “Include All Bone Influeneces”, there are no warnings in Blender, but i’m unable to import the mesh to the game because of an error Message: Number of JOINTS does not match the number of WEIGHTS. How can i fi that?

You have too many weights per-vertex. You can fix it, very roughly, by using a “limit total” operation in weight paint mode, using the default of limiting to 4 groups. After that, it should export properly, and should be read by your game engine.

However, this can affect your deformation. If rendering in an engine that supports a limited number of weights per vertex, it’s wisest to take that into account in weighting it, generally weighting it manually rather than via autoweights.
