whats the status of opencl on Nvidia GPUs. Is it feature rich or is it similar to the opencl on AMD gpus…
It has pretty much the same features (Open CL 1.1/1.2 spec) as the AMD implementation. The difference is, it actually manages to compile and run Cycles. I think there are still some bugs (probably related to float3/float4), but it pretty much works. It also takes only a minute or so to compile.
JensVerwiebe reports that OpenCL Cycles also compiles on Mac OS X with AMD GPUs, where presumably Apple is in charge of the OpenCL compiler.
Well it DOES work, at times…
Although there are weird shading errors and a bunch of other stuff going wrong.
would opencl cycles be feature rich under the latest macs or do they suffer from the same problems, cos i wouldn’t mind doing an AMD hackintosh…
