obj export fails in 2.54

it explains that the obj is broken and they provide a fix for it.

There were 2 fixes but that is stated on Blendernation review as edited, revised fix.
Neither export worked for me, but it may have been the external program I was importing OBJ to.
I abandoned it, for now.

non of the exporter work for me - no matter which one I try.

Ive also been having fun with this, but Ive found that ensuring that the object to be exported is on layer 1 works, at least in my case. With the latest builds.
Worth a try.

The OBJ importer works here but for some reason skips the UV unwrapping.
Loading it via Meshlab and then saving as OBJ again makes it readable for Blender.

Same with me, I tried .3ds to import into Thea and it wouldn’t show up in the file box. .Obj won’t show up on my desktop at all.

did you try the build I posted? The OBJ which comes with Blender there runs fine.
it is the 64bit blender windows build

Thanks for the advice, using it to make OBJ export usuable.

The FBX exporter from Blender worked for me. FBX was the only format that I could get to export. I am using 2.54.0 r31878. I used Autodesks FBX converter to get my obj that way.

Still getting the same problem and the same cure.
Build 32096. Win xp 32 bit.
Object on layer 3 fails to export.
Moved to layer 1 exports ok.
Wierd.
