.obj

Hello

Can some 1 tell me plz if there is an viewer which handls .obj files. and where can I get it?

Thanks all.

I’m not at my computer now… I have no links at now, but you can search for crossroads (Freeware) or MilkShape (Shareware)…
Most of the professional 3D modelling applications seens to load and view .obj files, like 3D studio…
Another way to view and modify your blender exported .obj files is the Wings 3D (freeware) software, that can import uv-mapped textures, like MilkShape, but is free, and it’s a powerfull 3d editor…

If you don’t have blender exported .obj files, and what you want is to import them to blender, try to use the objio.py python script. All these files and programs, or links to them can be found at elysium forum topics…

Good luck!

I forotten to tell that I am on Linux… :frowning:

Uhhhmmmm… well, I think arcanjo has forgotten to tell you that Wings 3D ( http://www.wings3d.com ), runs on linux too…

That is if you can build it and install it from source…

But hey, even if you can’t, there always the possibility to find some nice rpm’s hanging around…

Go and check out http://www.waldosworld.org/linux.htm . You never know… :stuck_out_tongue:

I hope wings 3D will do the job you want…

Spyros.

Ok!
I don’t know that wings3d runs on linux too… I have only windows and don’t bother to see all the wings3d download links. he he…
My redhat 7.0 installation says that it can’t recognize the partition scheme of my hard drive and fails to install… after that, I give-up! No linux at this computer anymore!
Thanks by the info!
