Hey there. I’m wondering if anyone knows how to make a game object, like a car, adhere to a hilly surface. I believe there was a way that required no code, but I believe that was taken out (RotFH or something like that?). Does anyone know if this was put back or if there’s another way to do this?
Use the latest apricot build. It has a feature called “Face Snapping”
I looked into this myself a few weeks ago: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=125674
You mean actually make it stick, or just follow the contour?
I think he wants it to stick to the surface as the car drives…
You could just use actor>dynamic>rigid body, that way the ‘car’ will always be normal to the ground ur driving on. It would be prone to flipping and rolling though, which is realistic because real cars can also roll and flip etc.
Im not sure if thats exactly what ur asking for though.
Would an empty with a magnetic field be of any use?
But by setting rigid body and raising the friction of the ground surface you should be able to achieve realistic car behavior.
