Hello all,
I am following a tutorial and at one point a torus is created and inspected from the front view like this:
I, however, can only see my object from this front perspective, with everything rounded on top and on the bottom.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing?

usually when you press the numbers keys to select a view, not always the view will be showed in orthographic mode, so you just need to press 5 to switch between ortho and perspective
In the user preferences->interface tab is auto perspective. It will turn on automatic perspective switching when entering top, side or front view.
