Object Reuse

Hi,
This is my first post here. I was just wondering if there is a way to import objects from another .blend file while retaining textures and materials correctly (exporting to .3ds for example loses textures).
Pretty noob question but i’ve looked round here and the web and cant find anything.

Hi, you can import other blender objects into your scene via the append (manual here: bottom of page) function.

some file importer plugin in blender does support texture, but I am not sure which.
