Object spits clumps of particles in a line from origin point

I was following this tutorial (https://youtu.be/SzbuZTlMGPE) and when I play the animation, clumps of particles in a line come out from the origin point, even though the boolean object isn’t touching the origin point and the modifier stack option is enabled.

Update: Someone on the Blender Stack Exchange forums has shown me a solution. The problem I had was related to the gaps in my mesh. What I did was make the sliver cube large enough so that when it’s in one of the gaps, it’s touching the ends of both of the gaps it’s in between.
