I’m using Blender 4.4.3 on Windows 11, and I’ve run into a strange issue.
When I start a new project and add a mesh, it looks normal (white) in Solid Mode. But as soon as I switch to Material Preview or Rendered mode, the object turns completely red. Even if I’ve created a new material and set the Base Color to something else.
No matter what color I choose, the object always appears red in those modes. Solid Mode shows the default white/grey just fine, but Material Preview and Rendered ignore the material color and show red instead.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
• Reinstalled Blender and reset all settings to default
• Made sure the Principled BSDF is connected correctly to Material Output
• Created new materials and applied them to new objects
• Changed all Base Colors and tested in Shader Editor
• Toggled “Use Nodes” and verified node setup
• Checked viewport shading settings (Scene Lights, Scene World, etc.)
• Changed Windows graphics settings and forced Blender to use high performance mode
• Added lights in the scene
• Tried different shading modes and layout tabs
• Used both Material Preview and Rendered Mode with different objects
Is this a known issue, or is there a setting I might be missing? I’m a beginner
Thanks in advance for your help!
