Object will not render

For some reason the “bike handlebars” in this file will not render.

The original file is from this thread, that original file does render.

I appended the object from the copy of the original, as it wasn’t rendering in that file, I thought appending into a new file might help.

All I did was add a two simple materials, and a couple of material indexes. I’m going to try to re-create the problem, but if it’s something “obvious” to a more experienced blender, I’d love to know what the problem is.

Did you accidentally turn off its “renderability” button in the Outliner - the square in the rightmost column?

Check also that it hasn’t been made a particle emitter or dupliverter.

Ah ha !

Your’e good !

I’ve actually never (intentionally) used the outliner-render flag

And I don’t remember turning it off … but it was off …

thx !

I only recently discovered this handy button too. In some ways it’s better than using up layers for controlling visibility of things like the proxy objects I use to block out animation curves, walk cycles and such.

Here’s the rendered handlebars … and bike(s)

Yeah, that’s a new feature. You can toggle visibility and selectability there too, so if you have a problem in the future finding or selecting something, remember to look there!
