Hello everyone! I’m really really new to 3d modeling so don’t wonder if there’s a lot i can’t understand. I downloaded blender about 3-4 days ago and I started watching tutorials. After 3-4 tutorials (making a cup, chain physics) i started making my own project.
This is as far as i got:
The problem is NOTHING works in it (talking about animations). What I mean is that the objects do not interact at all in rigid body mode. If i change one to static I can see them interacting in some ways but that’s not the way I want it. I want the handle thingy to stay fixed and the other parts to hang. The upper part is one single object just like every chain ring and handle. They also have every origin set to geometry. Now I added the upper trap part to the chain I made watching the “chain tutorial”. It seems that the chain works perfectly (first ring is static and holds the other rings as they fall) but the trap falls without interacting with the ring i have attatched it to. If i set the trap to static it WILL interact with the chain rings normally. The collision is set to Triangle Mesh (as I’ve seen in the tutorial).
These are the chain tutorials i’ve watched: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vb36TelwKs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWt8zsVFO7E . The chain I made is pretty much a mixture of both. I made every ring by duplicating the last one and ended up with a whole object looking like a chain. Split I’ve separated them by loose parts and set each one’s origin to geometry or center of mass (cant remember exactly). After that i went to Physics tab and selected the type as Rigid body and checked the Collision Bounds and set them to Triangle mash. After that I went to Start Game engine and everything turned out normally.
