Please, could someone explain me what the term “Occtree resolution” means and what is it good for and some rules for setting the propper value…
Thanx in advance.

seems that when U use AO :
if ur environement (walls) are very far from scene focused object,
it is better to put big Octree to speed render but ^^
experiment
It’s basicly a parameter to optimised raytracing rendering speed. It won’t affect quality, only speed.

And what are the rules? Is it true, it has something to do with extent of the rendered scene? Please, could you help me? Is there some tutorial explaining the new features since 2.23? :-? %|
Basic rule is, the bigger your scene (in blender units size, not complexity size), the bigger the octree for optimised render speed.
There’s a lot of info in the new release logs over at http://blender3d.org
You can access them through Infocenter -> Development and then click on Changes since 2.32
or directly http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Blender_2_33.66.0.html
