Ocean Liner steam.

Hey guys, I’ve been working on Titanic renders for a fair while now but one thing I’ve never been able to replicate accurately is the smoke coming out of the funnels. The largest issue I have found is when there are two smoke simulations that overlap the smoke looses all definition and shading. Do any of you guys know how to create 3 separate streams of smoke similar to the photo below?


You could just use particles instead of the smoke simulator. Include a wind field to push the particles in the direction you need.
