I burn incense often. and by my computer. today i noticed the smoke getting sucked in through the side ventilation slots. could this damage anything?
Eventually, yes. You probably won’t have immediate issues, but you should definitely stop it from happening in the future. If this has been going on for a while, you might want to crack your box open and check everything out. If you have a noticable amount of residue on any of the components, you’ll want to give them a good cleaning.
My basement caught on fire a few years ago and the smoke from that incident took a considerable toll on the electronics in our house.
Anyway, in conclusion, try not to let anything but air through your air vents.
hehe thanks for the quick reply. BTW how’s lightwave been going?
yeah whiteboy is right. a little inscense wont kill it but try not to let it happen.
The things kids inhale these days %|. My parents burn incense too and it drives me mad because it gives me a headache and there are always weird smells everywhere.
The smoke from the incense will be dense and might cause your processor to overheat. Worse, it will have droplets of fluid that may reach some of the electronics. After all, it is just vapour of funny smelling water. If you’ve ever seen the wetness on the wall beside a kettle, the same could be happening in your machine, though not as bad.
If you see smoke coming back out of your machine, then you’ve got problems ;).
I had a friend who always had a stick of Nag Champa burning in his car and his room. Not long after he started with it, my mom’s fascination with scented candles and incense grew. I couldn’t get away from the stuff! I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets headaches from it.
What I can’t stand is perfume. I can’t even breathe when I’m near it.
