Odd shading issue

Hey fellow Blenderers…

I made a cutout on a door panel for its handle that fits over it. When I cut out out the small hole with Knife tool, edges to edges, it caused a bright zone in that area. I have tried resetting Vectors, smoothing Vectors, examined the Normal arrows which are in order, but I still have the odd white zone. I tried extruding the hole, just as a test, nothing…

Any idea’s on how to get this white zone to return to normal? (Its not white in reality, its like a shading issue).

I also connected triangle links to the opening edges hoping that would fix it. Nada…

This might help to see what the hidden hole looks like.

I had a Sharp Edge on the hole inner cut zone, and cleared it back to soft, still nothing.

Above, there were a small amount of polygons in it that I had extruded to see if that would fix it. That didnt help. I have deleted that lip since. Normals (facing inwards) are now gone.

I also selected all Vertices in the area and ‘Welded by Distance’ in case there were co-located Vertices, non-welded. Nada…

Probably caused by smoothing because the area is not flat.

Can’t be sure without the file.
