Odd white polygons in Edit Mode

By request of a mod at Blender.org , I will ask here my questions from now on. I’m sorry if I caused any trouble :frowning: I’m new to Blender and learning little by little the trade. Have mercy of me, I beg you.

More or less, paraphrasing my last question there:

Greetings. I have a small question that I don’t know if it will influence my workflow or cause me problems if I resume my model now.

I wanted to resume my model today from the last point I left it yesterday (I saved the Default Settings with the ones from yesterday’s so I could resume the model from the very last thing I did on it). But, when I opened it today, it loaded everything from yesterday, but when hitting the Edit Mode (TAB) I stumbled upon a very odd white polygon in the middle of my wireframe model. As the photo displays:

This polygon is located at the hip of my character, and no matter what I do (TAB, Grab it, Select it, etcetera), it doesn’t go away.

So my questions are:
-What is this polygon?
-Why it is there?
-Will interfere with my modeling work?
-Is there any way to revert it back to normal without deleting that face and close the gap again?

Thanks in advance and sorry if I ask too much for small things like this. I don’t have the heart to go on for hours with my model if this polygon will cause it later to explode upon rendering it or something like that. I thing you get my point :spin: That or I’m worrying way too much for this small graphical quirk of the port view…
