This is a project I did for a client where he had built a fairly crude working prototype and he wanted me to create a “believable” illustration of the combination office treadmill and elliptical trainer. I was provided a few photos and videos of the operation of the prototype, and then designed/modeled out a believable product. (Side note: It looks like this will actually be produced at some point in the near future).
I modeled the treadmill, elliptical, chair, table, etc, and most of the smaller props were models I had lying around and some from Blendswap. All of them needed to be worked-over at least to a degree. I made extensive use of the Weighted Normals modifier - not sure this would have been possible without it. Start to finish the project took about 4 days.
Rendered at 4K in EEVEE - 17 seconds per frame … amazing.
