Ohh, the possibilities... dynamic boolean??

I’m new to blender. I understand it’s potential. I’m not too sure about some of it’s limitations though. I’ve never done any 3d work, (except programming for CNC machines in Mastercam, so I’m very good with solid and surface modeling in general)

I have read here that the boolean ops are not the greatest or most reliable. (Largly, I believe, because of using surfaces (meshes) as opposed to solids.)

My question is; using python scripts and/or the GE, is it possible to read a file with XYZ positions for movement values, and perform boolean ops (material removal, as in a CNC Machine cutting steel) based on that file?

I’m sure I could get the machine to move dynamically, but the boolean ops may cause problems.

TYIA.

you would get a much cleaner mesh if you had another approach.

what are you trying to do?

Basically a machining simulation. Axis movement and material removal.
