I would also like to help, I am really more into the gaming aspect of Blender, and I already had an idea to start this kind of thing too. You can also check out my post in the Realtime forum. I could do a lot for the games section, and I know Flash so I could make some nice graphics and animations for you. Drop me a mail @ [email protected]
I love Blender and would very much like to see it continue. It being that NaN is going to bankrupcy court means that all and everything to do with the original blender.nl site is a ward of the court. Posting (as in putting the ftp archives or tutorials from the original site on a website for download) anything from the original blender.nl site could hurt Ton’s chances of working another miracle to keep blender going.
Nothing wrong with privately sharing though, I have almost the whole ftp site on cd, up to Creator 2.22 (all flavors) and most of the demo’s, manuals…etc. e-mail might not be the best way to transfer but it should work.
keeping the faith and the community alive (seems to be that 
is the best way to keep Blender alive. Posting any materials that could be considered as copyright infringement (as in putting the ftp archives or tutorials from the original site on a website) is a good way to get to know your Lawyer (my lawyers name is Bill and he charges $150.00/hour and takes payment in $350.00 chunks, really nice guy, plays the flute at the sat. night jam session).

A Couple o’ Thoughts:

I read somewhere that there were something like 250,000 Blender users. ??What if we all rallied together and sent them $1.00 each. That’d be $250,000.00. Hey I spend 3-4 times that much on a pack a’ smokes. And it’s healthier for me.
