Old Desk Scene

Nothing amazing but im only a casual user of Blender. Candles are easily made with sculpting, and careful use of subsurface scattering for the material.

Candle holders are made using a bezier curve and screw modifier and then plenty of tweaking, blend kit for the bronze material. The whiskey glass was from Blendkit.

The Quill is made using two thin strip emitters next to the central spine, and you simply use hair particle system and then use the particle comb tools to obtain the feather look(easy but effective).

The desk material is wood from Timberlite, and added scratches, roughness and even a dust layer.

Ashtray glass uses volume absorption as well as glass BSDF, to get that strange frosted kind of look. Compass i made from scratch based on one i have to hand. All other objects I modeled.

Post processing color grading and what not in photoshop and such. And that’s basically it.

One tiny mistake is the ashtray is placed too low causing the table surface to clip through it. oops.
