This is one of my projects that would ordinarily not be finished just like the rest of my projects. However… this one is for a grade so I have to finish.
nice beginning, would be nice to see details though
Oh yeah. Definetly more to come.
some architectural critique: this is definitely not a gothic church. yes, you have those coloums on the outside, but this is it. this looks more like a much older roman church with no windows and its overall smallness. try to find some reference, for example try this: http://www.google.de/images?hl=de&q=kölner%20dom&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi
look at the detail on the facade and the large (!) windows.
the position of the steeple is akward. try to imagine how this church could be build. at the position in your render, there cannot be any walls to support the steeple. move it towards the door to make it line up with the front wall.
thinking about how a thing is build in reality always helps with modelling (although i tend to exagerate it )
i hope i didnt sound to harsh.
keep working and its gonna be a good model!
The polls are called butresses. I think… Anyway, you’re partially right. The shape for example is not like an ordinary gothic church. I would make it really complicated but… I’m on a tight schedule. I am however going to add all the fancy little things on the outside that all gothic churches seem to have. And actually the windows are the next thing I’m adding. This weekend I still need to learn uvmapping and the project is due tuesday.
UPDATE:
The reason you don’t see any grass is because it was slowing down my sucky computer so my friend helped me move it to another layer. Now I can’t seem to find it no matter what layer I’m on. Ideas anyone?
What I think to be my final render. However, can anyone tell me how to change the render quality in blender 2.54. i.e. the pixels per square inch.
