Just one question… Why are all those air conditioning units facing upwards? Isn’t that making them susceptible to rain?

Otherwise I like it a lot

As someone who actually lived in ‘Old Hong Kong’ I can’t believe how accurate this is. Wow, I still remember how dirty the streets were, and the AC units-- @Tiku_67 they’re actually accurate. No idea why, but yes, they’re susceptible to rain, but in Hong Kong it was just like that. Great work @hknoblauch.

These kind of packaged air conditioning unit (probably VRV) is mainly used in commercial building, not for residential building. Windows-mount unit are commonly used.

Just a technical point here, but those are the evaporator coils - the opening is for a fan - they’re designed to be out in the weather.

Most Central A/C units on homes have an exterior evaporator coil with a fan - and they’re outside year 'round and subjected to pretty much everything that Mother Nature can dish out - it doesn’t hurt them.
