This is my newest project right now, I’ve named him Old Man Pedro
I’m hoping to get this guy an animation, don’t know exactly what story yet, if you have any ideas I’d really appreciate it
He’s still very WIP, still finishing up on the modelling, but once I’ve done as much as I can on the vertex-front, I intend to give this guy a full texture workup! 8)
The worry area for me right now is the ear, I got them the shape I want them front on, but I’m a little worried the inside looks weird, any comments on that’ll help Only thing left to model is the neck, and some touch-ups on his face overall
Anyway, I started this guy originally as a sketch, to play around with some characatures.

Any comments really appreciated, I’m hoping that this character is destined to be animated
Going to start work on his neck and finish off tweaking the rest of the face, then onto the textures!
DMBadCat: I was thinking glasses too, especially after I watched Geri’s Game recently 8) I’m thinking on what I should make them like, but I’m a little worried how they’d go at animating… My two main concerns is that I’d love to have some kind of goofy refraction working on in those gems, which’ll take some time (but I’m hoping the new Refraction settings in Tuhophuu will help me out! ;)) and how I’ll be able to animate the eyes with the glasses in place There’s also the problem of lodging it on that crazy nose lmao!
Anyway, an update should be coming soon sigh Beautiful holidays, even tho it’s damn cold! (Winter :D)
Okay, this’ll hopefully be the final model, so I can now move onto texturing the old beasty

Seriously tho, once I start texturing it’ll be hell to change the model, so any complaints
Also, I’m having a hard time thinking of a way of texturing this guy… It has to be animatable, which rules most things but UV out shiver and it’s really hard trying to texture with the big nose and ears, etc I think I may give them a totally different material for each of them tho…
Dante, about the eyes, I need them to be animatable, to be able to show thoughts, so I can’t leave them simply white
About the stubble, I have him in the sketch with some stubble It’s one of those natural things for him, but I’m going to add that with the col and nor maps, not as a mesh, so it’ll come the same time as the textured face does (which’ll be forever ;))

The eyes are actually my texture, so I guess if you have any suggestion on the eyes you can just tell me, and I’ll think about modding the texture. Here is a smaller, compressed version:

Hey, no updates yet, mostly reading up on character animation (like John Lasseter’s “Principles of Traditional Animation Applied to 3D Computer Animation”) etc.
It’ll probably be a while before I update him again, I’ve mostly been doing little tests just to make sure he’ll be flexible enough to animate
dante: Photoshop 6 actually, I’ve always had it, so I haven’t had to rely on GIMP. The procedure probably wouldn’t change at all, but right now I’m more comfortable with PS, so that’s what I’m using
BgDM: I’m starting to regret making the ears that big too
They’re really one hell of a hard thing to texture lol, but I think that they add quite a bit of character, and I’ll be able to animate them
Might I suggest adding a little hair IN the ears? It’ll give him age, personality, and perhaps distract from any misformation on the inside that you see.
