Hi guys,
A few weeks ago, I went and bought myself a Wacom Cintiq 24HD pen tablet. This device has a screen in-built on top of the tablet.
Now, I can do a reasonable amount of interacting with Blender through the on-screen buttons in the tool bar and such, but there are still quite a few key combinations that I have to reach for the keyboard to enact.
So what I would like to know is whether it’s possible to create an addon which would allow me to add key combinations into the addon, and have it appear within the toolbar, so I can select the key combination with the pen, rather than reach for the keyboard.
When a key combo button is pressed, that key combination is placed into the keyboard buffer, so Blender sees it as a key stroke.
The Cintiq 24HD has a touch button at the top of the unit to pop up an on-screen keyboard, but this doesn’t seem to interact with Blender very well.
The key strokes for each button press I think should be configurable by the artist. It would also be a good way to document the key strokes available, as I’m often wondering what key combos are needed to pop up particular menus to do things.
Is this idea possible? Practical?
Is there a plugin already available for this?
BTW, I’m using Blender 2.64a.
Cheers,
- bec
