Hello there,
I did the tut on yafray caustics and thought it would look great with The One Ring, so I UV-mapped the text, and added a little glowing to it with compositing. Any crits or suggestion for things to add (it’s still a little plain) are welcome.
It might be more impressive if it wasn’t sitting on the kitchen bench 
Just kidding, looks nice, but it appears that your text is crooked. Maybe just the angle you rendered it on.

Well, at least in the movies :), the text wast exactly red. Maybe tone it down a little bit.
But thats up to you.
(Almost forgot) Its really nice! 
actually i was thinking of putting it on the pedestal, put then i would really have to make all the elves and rivendell and everything, i tried putting it on a hand or on a piece of rock thats in a fire, put both are hard to get anywhere near realistic…

On a more serious note, you need to learn to use Blender’s anti-aliasing feature. That will get rid of all those awful “jaggies.”

No, thanks for the hint, but in the other images i did use OSA, just that one has SSS and this PC is so old it still runs on 98, so it’s sloooow
At least in the movies there is writing on both sides of the ring, and it was usually a piercing bright orange or yellow instead of a dull red.
I so far think the first picture was best… the ring looks quiet nice… nice hand too =D… and plantperson that comment was priceless… for an environment I would suggest (if you can do it) the ring at the edge of the bridge (can’t remember the name of it D’=) in mount doom with the lava/magma or w/e below it…like half of the ring is off the edge
