Hey, look what I’ve done with makehair ?shag hair ? plane with alpha ? no, no, no,they are all done with blender static particle with curve guide and its really easy to create and modelled hair. They have been created not more than 30 min aproximately.Who said that we can’t create long hair with blender statik particle. And they can be animated realisticaly also, not need to tell (w).This is just a little try.Hope you enjoy chao.
I don’t normally beg people for tutorials but those look so nice I can’t resist. That hair is really good. Could you please do a tutorial or post a .blend? 8) I (and I’m sure the rest of Elysiun members) would be greatly appreciative.
hmm… i really suggest you should spend a bit more time on it if you want to advertise blender hair. personally i dont think that blender’s hair system is up to speed with commercial solutions. not in rendering speed, flexibility or usability.
Sorry for haven’t relpy, I was at my worked and was returning home. All my blend file are at my work. But tomorrow I will try to post it and also to make the hair thinner,( need to search also how to posted blend file).Sure LetterRip You can used it for the Press Realease etc …but this is
not a finish worked,(aprox 30 min). And also I’am not a proffessional and i affraid to say something wrong on the tutorial. But I will try to make one tomorrow. For the shader,I just switch off the ( col ) in the ( map to ) panel
and change the colour in ( material - col ).Too simple to be true ?I will make an animation also tomorrow if possible.
hi kmaro, just a few hints because I think it could use some improvements, especially if you want to promote blender, because I don’t think it’s quite there yet. You need thinner, and more hairs, and the material should also be more transparent. Watch those shadow buffer clipstart/end because it’s causing some artifacts, too! Also at the front near the fringe, it’s quite obviously segmented. Perhaps try with a few more additive guides and play with the influence distances, to try and get a more even distribution.
Thank you Broken.I will try this tomorrow.Yes I need to adjust the colourband to make the end more transparent.Tomorrow i will concentrate only on one character hair and hope I and you all will satisfied with it.
i think many people who start a blender vs maya thread
never realy used maya.
sure blender is in many ways way behind, but compared
to where it was two years ago we both know how much
it develloped and where it slowly can be used for in
a comercial sense.
i am just curious how the dev. will continue after the orange
project.
As an ex-Maya user, I think unless you’re into top end TV or film work, blender is more than adequate for most purposes. Plus the development side is a lot more accessible than a high price solution. I think support will grow exponentially as 2.4 gains momentum.
Hi all blenderer. Here are some test. Some of them I add lot of hair and decrease the strand thickness, others not.You can compare them. I use also additive.
You might want to do a render that shows the AA problems and submit it to the bug tracker, for the Orange project obviously they will want/need to eliminate such issues.
i would not say that it is a bug, but the quality blenders AA is producing sometimes need some improvements in my opinion and as far as i know
they are working on that already anyway.
My unfinish gandfather which will be the principle actor for my short film.I done this before understading well the static particle so it need to be redone.Anyone opinion ?
