Open GL Animation

Is there a way to render an animation in opengl quality? To render one image there is the button “render this view” in the 3d window header. Would be really cool if that could be used for animations, too. Would be a very fast check if all the objects are seen, and the camera angles look like they should, etc.

Thanks for replies, fr@me

you can already do that with the RENDER VIEW button at the bottom of the 3D window.

Perhaps you might be looking for the Alt-A key combination. This will show a preview of your animation in whatever 3D window the mouse is in. It uses the current drawing style of that window (wireframe/shaded/etc…), and the current view of that window (ortho/perspective/camera/etc…), and is displayed in that window. It’s kind of like pressing and holding the right arrow key.
This preview is going to be slower than real-time, and will continuously loop until you stop it (Escape key).

ectizen: yes, that works too, as a preview, but he clearly said “render”… Anyway, it’s always good to have more than one choice.

Yeah, I didn’t think it was going to be exactly what was required (hence the “perhaps” and “might” ), but I thought I it was close enough to be worth mentioning.

Hello fr@me,

If I understand your question correctly, just set your render path and file
type in the Display Buttons (F10). Then hold SHIFTKEY and click http://www.xyrodian.com/Help/GLRenderButton.png.

This should produce results like: http://njlaw.xyrodian.net/help/IKSolveRenderProblem.mpg

I hope this helps
