hello. i and Fizzy are recruiting people to make an animated short out of this picture
we are in need of the following.
2 storyboardists
1 concept artist
5 animators
5 riggers
Actors (number of people will be listed when story is complete).
And 3 video editors
I’M HANDLING MUSIC AND SFX DESIGN.
this is an open project (meaning you will not be paid. were doing this for the fun of it).
these positions are numbered (suggested by fizzy).
the least possible length i want the short to be is five minutes. longer would be nice but i am not going to push it.

I guess i could help, modelling mainly but i can help with story lines!
And for a renderfarm, there is one based with facebook that i have heard is good…Uses a whole web of users from facebook and is completely free also, but that will only really matter at the end of the everything so i think yuo have time to look for options on that one.
Actually, on another note i can probably help with concept art also, 3 years of VCD comes in handy apparently…
I have come up with some ideas for a story (ALREADY) but i will wait for the website to come up before I actually tell everyone, especially considering I havn’t really finished them yet it’s probably best to wait…
Hmmm…i guess it’s a challenge eh?
Also, what kind of THEME are we going for, are we concentrating on this mystery signal thing, or or just this general theme?
What kind of model’s will we be going for? Cartoonlike, simplstic realism, FULL realism, or what?
Will the story be based around characters or events?
Anyway, food for thought.
(don’t take anything i say serioiusly right now, i have a headache that is so bad i can barely move…had to get my friend to actually get the laptop off the table for me to use…so i wouldn’t be surprised if what i’m trying to say comes out as complete gibberish…)
well my ideology when it comes down to design is this.
with story line we’ll get working on as a group (we all [the people working on the story] pitch in a story, modify them to suit other peoples interest and settle on one which is the best out of the lot. the story-line can be in reference to the radar or not.)
with modeling and that design, i personally would like a cartoony style (like dream-works or pixar).
mostly the story will be based around characters.
as for your headache, don’t feel too bad. i’ve been
feeling ill for the past two months.

Also - I have to point out that even though I have a newfound love for Blender, I am also studying at a university. And 5 assignments have been given out. My main priority would be Flash CS5 and Actionscript 3.0 (If you know it, drop me a message! lol) I will do my super uber best to get the blender done!

so what is this short going to be about, I hope you have a script done because there is nothing that kills a movie project faster than starting one without a script, You see I could volunteer to do modeling or animating but it will probably take you months if not a year to get to that point where I would have something to do by that time most people would have gotten bored and moved on.

We’ll be starting on the storyline immediately. Once we’ve settled on a story, those who are working on storyboard and concept will start. Anything they have finished, the animators, modelers, and riggers will start on, at the same time the storyboardists are working, I and the other two audio editors will figure out how to record the voices for the characters (through email).
Looks like this is going well so far.
I might PM a few of my buddies and get them in on this…
