Open-source: Exposure Render - Interactive direct volume rendering with CUDA

A project at the TU Delft, The Netherlands. Link: http://code.google.com/p/exposure-render/

This is somewhere between incredible and astonishing. I see a broad application in the medical sector.

I played with the MRT data of the human body and it´s just grand how you can penetrate the sheets, clothing, dermis, epidermis, muscle layer and organs down to the bones by controlling the curves.
Also fun to look into the data of the backbag and see what´s inside
Unfortunately the data density of the MRT scans is not too high, so it lacks resolution, grand nonetheless.

Even better that it is FOSS. I am certain with a specialized application for university clinics he could make a fortune.

This is great!
