Open Source Screen Capture Software?

Is there an open source screen capture program?

Like Virtualdub?

Oh…I will a take a look at that.

Thank you!

Which OS are you using? If you’ve got GNU/Linux you can probably use Xvidcap/Gvidcap (the difference between the two is in the UI, I think that’s all).

I have XP Pro :slight_smile:

Try CamStudio. (Sourceforge Download Page) Hope that’s what you’re needing.:slight_smile:

It’s not open source, and it’s for Windows (with .NET) only, but if you’re looking for a screenshot tool (what I understood “screen capture” to mean), then check out Cropper (http://blogs.geekdojo.net/brian/articles/Cropper.aspx)

You can use the gimp.

file->aquire->screen shot

It’s not open source but really great ( you have to check :D) :

Launch it , then press alt+F2 , select the zone you want to capture and press the slibe it button .
The shot will be directly upload on their server and you will have the link to the shot :eek:(soooo fast).:cool:

Peace :).

Or, you can simply press the “Print Screen” button on your keyboard which copies the screen image to the clipboard.

That would be screenshot. Screen capture refers to capturing the screen (over and over again) to produce a video.

Oh. My mistake.

Not open source, but free and very good
