OpenGL Texture Bind ID?

Hey. I know this is a weird question to ask, but I need to find the OpenGL Texture Bind ID of a texture in the BGE without opening a bge.texture Texture (the only way I can see of doing this). There used to be a method to do this in a material, but it appears to have been taken out (why, I don’t know). Is there any other way to do this (I don’t think the bge.texture method would even work…)?
