Opening 2.49 files in 2.5x: Layout change

Hi,

This seems to be a very trivial question but forum and google searches havent yielded anything; hence the thread.

When I open a 2.49 file in 2.55 the layout relapses to the old 2.49 layout. However I want to retain the 2.55 layout. Is there a way to do this without having to append the contents of the old file into a fresh file?

Untick the ‘Load UI’ tickbox in the file browser when you open a file or untick for a permanent change in the User Preferences.
