Opening and Closeing Curves : Cyclic

Simply put if I was to add a Bezier Circle -> Edit mode -> use alt-c to open the curve
The curve opens I know that it opens from the start and end points but my questions are.
Can I select where the curve opens?
Can I select what are the start and/or end points?

Searching hasn’t giving me any clear can/can’t do it. Only learned that it works with the start/end points… .
Any help on this would be great with the subtle frustration beginning, maybe a python script???

Select the two points where you want the curve to open and use ‘X / delete segment’

Thank you, funny thing I came back to edit…just found it haha still good to have this here I guess for others to search and read.
