openshot, blender 2.55 and using fonts

Hi,

I’ve been having a look into openshot’s feature animated titles and installed blender 2.55 as stated here: https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1299 , so it’s that version without customization what i’m in fact using.

I tried using the interface but it’s a lot of things here and there so it’s a bit difficult for me to use it.

I was trying to figure out how can i add extra fonts there, in the hope they will be then available at openshot interface. I found out that openshot available font (Bfont) it’s the same that the one used by blender. I don´t know where to start so i think that maybe having blender loaded with extra font’s may provide also to openshot…

I read about they should be a special type of font, but really don´t know where to start,

Any hint?

Haven’t a clue what openshot is but to use other fonts, add a text object then select the font you want for that text. In the File / User Preferences you can also set a path for your fonts directory. The location of your system fonts will depend on the operating system you are using.

Holy crap!!! I didn’t know this was out there! A full featured video editor integrated with Blender for animated titles! That’s f!@#ing sick!!! I use Blender for titles already with Kdenlive. I’ll try out openshot and when I figure out how to change the font, I’ll post back here. In the meantime, I’m subscribing to this thread!

Don’t forget to keep up to date with the Beta releases for Blender as it’s getting more stable every day. The FAQ at Openshot (http://www.openshotusers.com/help/1.2/en/ar01s18.html) just says you need Blender 2.5+.

Good! i have patience enough to wait loopduplicate , meanwhile, i will try Richard’s path: In the File / User Preferences you can also set a path for your fonts directory .

Many thanks for your support, i’ll be subscribed to this thread too!

Regards!
