I am going to by a new laptop this year. Unfortunately I cannot afford one with and Nvidia chip and I have seen too many post of problems with ATI’s chipset.
Anyone have any opinions or better yet experiances with
#1 Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
I haven’t played with any “intel extreme 2” based machines [I think I’ve played with intel extreme graphics machines though].
the “intel graphics media accelerator 900” or so ought to have glsl [or at least the extensions to do normal mapping in doom3], but it doesn’t run very well.
In general on intel hardware blender is capable of running
switching to 16 bit color mode is sometimes required to make blender stable [even on newer chipsets, but I don’t recall having problems with those]
however, if doing something complicated [like the game engine] blender will be a lot more slow than on a geforce 3 even… lit faces don’t seem to be much of a problem.
can’t you go to some electronics store with blender on a flash drive and play with it there?
