Okay Blender peeps…
Here is a half-A’'ed shot of trying to model an iconic figure…yes our favorite Prime! But here is where I am stuck. I am at the point of trying to add materials/textures for the first time ever, and I just don’t get it. I haven’t tried unwrapping yet, cuz I think my model has a whole heck of a lot of tweeks before I get that far. I just need help!
Items to finish:
-head lights on top of chest.
-Forehead, shin, stomach, cheek grills
-Energon blaster
I’ve been trying to understand coloring/materials but each time I highlight a section in edit mode, it color the entire model. Whats up with that?
The other problem is that I modeled it all in one layer. Will that effect my rigging when it comes time to transform?
There are books I am currently reading like “Mastering Blender”, “Blender for Dummies” and a few others like composting, but I’m far from that at the moment.
And really, the only reason why its see through is because I tried doing the front windshields but the darn material spread over the whole model. I have attached, the materials I want to use, but not sure what to do with them. I tried to load them in uv window, and even in the texture section. I have no clue what I’m doing…
Its not the program, its the user. Any advice would be nice.
I also have my own Mech I want to start on but before I do I want to get this done. Disclaimer: Please be advised, I am a brand new newb, and this is my first real model. But be as harsh as you want, I can take productive criticism!
