orbit around edge or vertex selection broken?

Hey Everyone,

When I’m editing vertices or edges, I used to be able to press ‘.’ on my keypad and then when I middle mouse button dragged the view would orbit about the selection.

In 2.42 it won’t do this, it only orbits about the meshes center point.

Is it broken, or has something changed? It’s pretty annoying when you’re trying to work on a characters hand for instance and the view will only orbit from their hips…

Under User Preferences / View&Controls check that “Around Active” is turned off (I thought it was off by default, but I don’t remember if I changed it).


In preferences>View & controls is something called around active. Turn it of.
