Organizing the recently added Tabs feature

I’m using Blender 2.70 on a Mac. Many of my addons are available under different Tabs. Is there a method for organizing the addons and ‘cleaning up’ this condition?

Thanks in advance.

One of the tabs feature is the ability to “pin” several of them , so you can have a few tabs open at the same time :

Select a tab you want to be constantly opened

Move you mouse here and hold the SHIFT key

now click and you’ll see a little pinning icon appearing

You can then click on another tab, notice that the functions that were in the “pinned” tab are still displayed too
So basically, if you pin all the tabs, you can get all the functions available at all time in that toolshelf, as it was in 2.69 and lesser

To unpin a tab, just hold SHIFT and click on the little pinning icon.

Hopefully in the future we’ll be able to drag&drop those tabs into custom created ones to tailor those tabs to match our personnal workflow, but for now it’s very basic as there’s not much customisation possible unless you know some python coding to edit the interface files.

Thanks for taking the time to clarify Tabs for me. I look forward to more organizational options down the road.

Wow, who implemented that hidden feature?

It is nice to know that it is there, who the heck is gonna know that you have to SHIFT-Click to activate it? There should be an image of an un-pinned icon in place, all the time, then you would realize, oh yeah maybe I can interact with that area. What about a tooltip?

Invisible hidden GUI elements…yuck! Just as awful as the sideways TABs themselves.

I don’t remember where i saw this hidden feature explained i think it was in a video presenting the feature, but i agree it’s definitively not the best choice to make such a thing hidden.
