Origin to Cursor

Hey! Guys,

Attached is my Blend File. I am modelling Dodge Challenger. After modelling a bit, I thought of using a mirror modifier to see how things look.

So I tried Set Origin to Cursor before I could use the mirror modifier. But somehow it is not working.

I first snapped the 3D Cursor to Vertex, which is in the front on the bonnet.

Then in the object mode I pressed SHIFT+ALT+CTRL+C, which showed the menu. I chose “Origin to 3D Cursor”

But nothing happened

Attached is the Blend File

Richard,

Thanks for the demo via Jing.

Now I understood my mistake. In Blender 2.49b, it wasn’t requried to select the Origin. But in 2.5 we have to select it too.

Thanks a ton

i have a question where can i find center new and center to cursor in blender 2.54 i been looking for it like crazy but can not find it thanks

Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C or search for “origin” or look in the Tool Shelf (T) for a button near the top

Scan36,

Click Richard’s screencast link.

Also remember, before using Shift+CTRL+ALT+C, you have to right click and select the centre.
