Had this on my PC for nearly a month before I decided to render it. Been working (a lot), and I wanted to experiment with stuff for other projects, (I got a pretty nice render I’ll post later), but overall, I’ve had precious little time for my own hobbies. So, my first project…
Criticisms, as always, are appreciated, but overall, I hope it is pleasing to the eye. Still need to figure out something for volume lighting soon though, Christmas is coming quick.
Beautiful work, but I think, that if the stars were smaller, it would look a little bit more realistic. The glass and wine looks perfect. Nice render, but You have used far too high value of Your emit shaders, the table is too much illuminated. (I see the nice bumpmapping on the table and guess Your rendering engine was Cycles?) The colour of the light is pretty! Good job!
Yeah, figured the emit shaders were high myself, Nicely botched attempt at making the lights more resemble incandescent bulbs. Finally figured out how to fake volume lighting, so I’ll play with it a little more, and maybe I might rework the lighting in this scene to utilize it. That combined with some post-processing might get me the result I’m looking for.
Cycles was indeed used in this scene, took about 2500 samples to kill off a lot of noise with the glass. 19 hour render ftw.
