What you say is not entirely correct :thinking: because as said in my previous post, for me BLENDER 2.81a with W10 works properly.

First of all, get into the habit of testing a new version by installing a portable version of BLENDER (in a separate directory):

  • after having “unzipped” all the files in this directory, go to the directory [2.81] and simply add a new folder which you name “config”.

  • when BLENDER is launched, it checks, in its installation directory, whether or not the “config” folder is present.

  • NO => then it retrieves these configuration parameters in the “config” folder located by default in the following location (C: \ Users \ xxxxxx \ AppData \ Roaming \ Blender Foundation \ Blender \ 2.81)

  • YES => it uses the parameters contained in the “config” folder located in its installation directory

Before that, you can restore the startup file and default preferences:

  • File Menu > Defaults > Load Factory Settings
