Outlining Character Eyes

Does anyone know of a good method of outlining an eye as in the left eye below?

I’ve tried with solidify/ backface culling method, but to no avail.

What do you mean by ‘outline?’ Do you want a raised ridge around the eye? A dark line around the eye? If you mean outline the way the right eye looks to be outlined… why doesn’t the same method work for the left?

Just a visual outline. The outline in the image was just drawn to illustrate what i want to achieve.

Ideally I would use the freestyle line tool but I don’t know of any way to make it recognise the meeting point between the face mesh and the eye meshes

Ah, okay. Sorry, I’m totally clueless when it comes to freestyle. There are quite a few videos on YouTube, though, so it shouldn’t be hard to source the info you need.
