I have been experimenting with render farms and have been packing and unpacking a blend of mine. Normally I keep the textures in the same directory as the blend, which is probably a bad idea but that’s the case here. When packed they go into a directory called textures, which makes sense. When I need to update a texture I change it’s path in the node editor to the same directory I’m in, thus removing the texture path.
I wind up with all these texture.jpeg.001’s Some of these textures are quite large it’s slowing things down. What’s my best bet for just eliminating the 001’s and getting a streamlined pack/unpack workflow going?
