first you will need to make sure your model is orientated the correct way
(so that x is running on the correct axis)

also it only works from when you start painting
it will not add what is already there

you might be better off using the script to mirror the weights, then both halves will be the same

then start painting with x-mirror

the red axis runs between the legs ? , or passes both of them ? , i think inbetween them .

i’m using [armature > create from bone heat] , would that change anything ?

it was working for some time but i don’t know what happend to it :frowning: .

when you are looking straight at your model - (front)
the x axis should run from shoulder to shoulder (left to right)

mirror weights isn’t working because the axis is wrong

the weights of bone heat should be symmetrical
but only if the armature and the model are symmetrical
and they are centered in the same spot

If you are having trouble with the weight painting script, I would check your version of python

but you may be able to easily fix this problem by:
-deleting half the mesh
-detach the armature modifier
-Change the axis of your model (or check it’s facing the right way)
-then reattach the armature
-add your bone heat back

and then either paint the weights on the half model then mirror it
or mirror it and do the bone heat then x-mirror paint

check your email C.bunny

I fixed it and sent it back

if you have any questions just ask

THaankss

DLDing , how did you fix it ? … [embarresed] .

edit :- noticed the text thanks .
edit2 :- why did you make the armature modifier real ?

your model’s axis was all wrong and it was facing backwards also
I rotated the model and reset the axis (Ctrl A)
did the same with the armature
your mesh wash symmetrical so I deleted half of if and then mirrored it again to fix the x-axis weight paints

should all be fine now

ok , when i understand it , i will make a video tut out of it and put it on vimeo , by the willing of god , thanks .

i’m too happy .
