Parallax Occlussion...

How do I do it on Blender Internal?
If it’s possible on the BGE, it must be possible on Blender Internal!

I don’t think it is possible in BGE, unless it is some super node GLSL thing. If it is possible ou’d probably do it the same way.

I don’t know nodes, never used them and I probably never will, the BGE GLSL uses SHADER SCRIPTS.

Someone posted that the Parallax Occlusion doesn’t yet exist on Blender Internal.
It could have been great for serious cat hair…
Seriously, it would render much faster than hair particles.

Wait, parallax occlussion is for making more realistic bumps, not fur…
