Parenting mesh with bones hides part of object

Hi!
I got this weird problem. When i parent my character mesh to bones with “with automatic weights” i lost part of my objects. I have no idea that what is doing that. I tried already that i applied my modifiers and “auto run python commands”. And I also removed doubles and recalculated normals.

Frontside of my pants just disappear and belt too. Rest of model is just fine.

Thank you already.

Ilkka

Check that you have no unapplied Scales or Rotations on any meshes or armatures. To do this select all objects, armatures in Object Mode, then key CTRL+A and select “Rotation and Scale”. It is a common problem here when bits of meshes disappear, that people have scaled the mesh or armature and not applied the scale. I must write this advice at least once per week, and I suspect others do likewise.

ALL edits to meshes and armatures in terms of rotations or scales should be done in EDIT Mode NOT Object Mode!!! This is how Blender is written, if you do scale or rotate in Object Mode - apply the scale and/or rotation before you parent the mesh to the armature.

Let me know if this fixes it, otherwise I will need to see a Blend File.

Hi clockmender!

Thank you for your answer. I tried ur method but it didn’t work :(.

Here’s this model before parenting:

And this is how it looks after parenting (I dont think the right word is that it hides part of it. It kinda squeezes it to center? or something…) :

Thanks,
Iluppi

I need to see the blend file…

You can post it here if it’s not too large or www.pasteall.org/blend/
