Hey, guys. Can someone tell me how to parent objects that are in different layers? I’m trying to complete the earth tutorial made specifically for Blender 2.48 (if you would like to look at it, I can upload it or post a link or something), and I seem to be having trouble on the part where it tells me to parent the different objects in each layer to one object in the first layer.
I would assume you would make all the needed layers visible, (shift click each) shift-select all the objects involved with the intended parent object selected last (making it the active object) and then “ctrl P” to create parent.
But, I don’t know the tutorial so there may be a misunderstanding on my part.
Parent the three outer spheres to the land surface sphere, and
parent the land surface sphere to the empty.
To do this…
Shift select all three outer spheres and then shift select the land surface. (making it the active object) Ctrl P and make parent.
Deselect all
Select the land surface and then shift select the empty. Ctrl P and make parent.
Pretty much like I said in my first reply. Pehaps you could explain what you meant by “having trouble”?
