I have a character with an armature skeleton. I am wondering why it is that when I parent that armature to an object (like a bike to ride on) and press P the character scales and flattens way out of proportion. This happens even if I parent an empty to the armature and parent the empty to the bike.
Whats going on here?
i am also having the same problem. the same thing happens when you try to snap a mesh to the grid while in edit mode

Try simply parenting an empty to the armature, and the object to the empty.

I always parent my armatures to a cube, which is the same thing, really, and don’t get that behaviour. Not that I’ve noticed anyway.

Thanks for the replies!
Thats what I was saying. I parented the armature to an empty and the empty to the bike. It still scaled and skewed.

Hmmm. Seems to work. Does the cube set some kind of standard for the object as far as scaling and what not? I dont get it.
try selecting the bike then pressing Ctrl+A Then Pressing Apply Scale And Rotation Then Parenting
